The Game Started of with Conor Flynn and Conor O’Doherty winning the Throw in and St Patrick’s applied pressure form the start.  Conor O’Doherty Started off the game with 2 Stunning Points form well worked play with Conor Flynn.

12 minutes in Martin Beeton Took  the ball in his stride broke a tackle and played the ball to Mark Walsh High resulting in Mark Walsh placing the Ball in the net, Then shortly after Martin Beeton Done the Same from the Half Back line as he tackled the Agahagallon number 12 and won the ball and set up Mark Walsh for His 1^st Point.

16min – Agahagallon Caught the St Patrick’s Team Asleep as they sweep forward and Beat Michael Brannan in nets with a Goal bring the game back to a close one.

17min – St Patrick’s Responded with a Kick out from Michael Brannan caught by Conor Flynn in Midfield and pumped the ball to mark Walsh in the Corner as he maneuvered in and out but couldn’t get past his man so he shot from a 20 to 30 degree angle and scored a stunning right foot point.

19 – Mark Walsh found his confidence after his goal and point as he ran through the Agahagallon defense again beating of 2 players and shot for goal with the Keeper pulling off a Great save.

22min – Conor O’Doherty Received the ball out on the right wing and ran diagonally at goal and decided to shoot for goal and as it was going wide the Agahagallon Defender deflected it into his own net to give St Patrick’s a 2 point lead at this time.

27min – After Agahagallon Fighting Back to Level it Martin Beeton Intercepted a Long ball in Midfield and ran forward for 25 yards and laid it of to Mark Walsh who took a point to put St Patrick’s Back into the Lead.

28min- Maybe the best block of the Game came from Cormac O’Hanlon as the Agahagllon man was free to take his goal and Cormac dived to make a block to keep St Patrick’s ahead resulting in a 45 which then fell short and again Conor Flynn was their in the Defense to help out and Clear the Danger.

29min- Conor Flynns Clearance went to Conor O’Doherty and he laid it off to Beety on the Wing and Agahagallon knew Beety was the main runner in the team as 4 players tried to wipe him out but Beety came out on top as he stood tall and withstood the tackles made by number 9,7,12,5 which resulted in a pass to Ryan McFall who passed to Walsh who hit a Wide. St Patrick’s went into the Interval with a 2 point lead

Half-Time Agahagallon 2-02 , 2-04 St Patrick’s

John give the Half time Speech telling the team “playing well lads but lets up the pace to win” the boys had their confidence up even though with a few doubts about the team they sorted it out and were ready for the second half

The 2^nd Half did start off Slow as it took 15 minutes for the bit of action as Conor Flynn made an Inspirational on Agahagallons Number 5 who was the main player for then as he won the ball and Stunned him, Conor Lifted the team and made a long run forward showing the determination he wanted to win.

46min – Shortly after Conor Flynn give the team a lift Cormac O’Hanlon was doing the same and as he won a ball in the air beating the Agahagallon Midfielder he came down and landed side ways on his ankle which looked like a sprained Ankle and had to be substituted which peter O’Neil came on for him, major Injury blow for St Patrick’s Midfield.

50-54min – Martin Beeton was under extreme pressure as each time the defense won the ball and cleared it the Agahagallon team was running at Martin Beeton but The Stamina Or Beety proved to be too good as he didn’t tire and stuck with his man and covering ground, but Agahagallon did score 7points in this period coming from Numbers 8×2,9,5,7,12 which meant St Patrick’s had to put the pressure on in the last 5 minutes despite being 5 points down.

55mins – Agahagallon came forward with a one on one against a Michael Brannan.  Michael Made him self look big and had his eyes only on the ball and made a cracker save to stop the game being out of reach then Dan Crossey chassed back and Cleared the ball from Danger for a side line ball, Brilliant defending from St Patrick’s and Brilliant Ball work from Agahagallon to beat the Weakened St Patrick’s midfield.

57mins – St Patrick’s Made the best move in the game when Michael Brannan kicked a Kick-out to Conor O’Doherty and he got up about 2 foot off the ground to catch and maneuvered and fooled his player.  Conor then seen the opportunity to run forward to try and get St Patrick’s back in the game and Mark Walsh broke off his player then smart thinking from Conor hand passed it to Mark and only one thing was on Mark Walsh mind which was a Goal which he took brilliantly to bring the deficit down to 2 points and St Patrick’s had the spirit to win the game with 3 or 4 minute remaining.

58min – Agahagallon Decided to try and finish the game off and at the St Patrick’s half back line Smart thinking from Martin Beeton and a sloppy pass from Agahagallon say Beety intercept the ball and ran for 30 yards then done a one-two with ryan McFall and scored a point to bring it down to a point nail biting last couple minutes but did St Patrick’s have enough left to win the game.

In the Last two minutes Agahagallon did finish off the Game as the St Patricks team did look to tire after a lot of running to try and get back into the game, Agahagallon did go on to score 3 more points so the final score did finish Agahagallon 2-11 , 3-5 St Patrick’s

Johnathan French Man of the Match Goes to Conor Flynn, due to covering midfield and excellent catches and thriving the team forward, good at reading the game and pushing the team up forward. Beety and Conor O’Doherty wern’t to far behind.  Conor Flynn has the potential to be an influential captain in the future on this Under 16 if he keeps up the excellent work.

A greatly anticipated game with local rivals Glenavy was played at Kirkwoods where the atmosphere was red hot Lisburns 1st home game of the season. Lisburn knew that they had to get a good start to the game and they duly delivered from scores from Aaron McDonald and Paddy Agnew. The momentum started swinging Lisburns way but Glenavy were still a very real threat on the attack scoring a well worked point. Only for a goal saving block from full back Sean Fay kept Lisburn in the lead. Also Gerard Kennedy and Mark Torbitt were rock solid in defence which frustrated Glenavy. Declan Burns was causing problems for the Glenavy defence and his hard work duly paid off when he rose high and punched in a goal from a superb ball in from the midfield. His confidence grew and soon he had a second goal in almost identical circumstances. Glenavy hit back with two points but a point from Declan Burns had sent Lisburn into half-time with a comfortable lead but there was another half of football to be played.

Lisburn came out firing with a superb Aaron McDonald point from a fine solo run. Tomas fay was leading by example with some terrific football along with Paddy Catney who both ran the midfield together. A ball in from the wing seemed to be going nowhere but a hand out from Declan Burns sent it on its way into the back of the net. Declan rounding off a superb game with a superb hat-trick. A Glenavy goal and 3 points may have raised their forwards hopes but these were stubbed out by determined defenders who weren’t just happy to defend, no, they started and assisted in many attacks. Best example coming from full back Mark Kearney. St pats full backs and mid fielders provided some wonder high catches under pressure, in particular Sean Fay. Denver Taggert then fired a left foot shot which rippled the net to put the game beyond doubt. Denver then scored a great point to round a great display in the half forward line. However a free kick for Glenavy was dispatched into the Lisburn net due to a lapse of concentration but it had no outcome on the scoreline. A further two points from Paddy Agnew and a fantastic point from Aaron McDonald from the 45 showed the class in the Lisburn attack. From the goalkeeper right up to the full forwards, everyone put a great shift in. A well deserved win from an excellent performance but there is always room for improvement as manager Dee French pointed out at the end. Now Lisburn will be going into the next game full of confidence knowing that they are a match for anyone. Promotion seems to a very real prospect!

Meanwhile Lisburns under 16s romped to victory after a long trip to Rasharkin. A fantastic display of attacking and free flowing football was something that Rasharkin couldn’t handle and the score suggested that. A great win in the Breslin cup and local rivals Glenavy await them in the second round.

Meanwhile last week against Rasharkin showed Lisburn come of a 3 match losing streak to put 2 points on the board, probably St Patricks best performance so far seen us beat a decent and skillful Rasharkin team at the Falls park s it showed a impressive debut from Aaron McDonald in half forward scoring a cracking sideline kick.  A good start got us a half time lead of 9pts – 2pts. St Pats built on this during 2nd half and notched up our highest score so far 0 – 16 ,    1 – 7 Lisburn win.

Also Another Impressive win for the U16s as they came of a heavy defeat Last week against St Endas as they Beat Cargin 2-3 to 5-9 St Pats.

The U14s  Thrashed Ballymena 4-9 to 1-2 showing a strong U14 side for the Year.

The Day started off with st pats Seniors who had a close encounter in the falls park against a decent Rasharkin team. But St Pats finished the strongest and won by 6pts. Excellent defending by Deano, Sean Fay, Mark Kearney, Stephen Marely , Josh, Eoin Fay, and Mark Torbit kept us in front for most of game. our forwards give 100% effort but lacked that killer instinct to put the result beyond rasharkin. The Return of Paddy Catney and Tomas Fay in Midfield worked well and the two boys done their share of defending and attacking. Rasharkin leveled 5 minutes after the interval with it standing 1-4 0-7 then Paddy Agnew came on in the 2nd half and spiced up the game with 2 stunning points follower by Mark Torbits 2 points coming from brilliant solo runs to put us in the lead. Gerard Kennedy and Stephen Marley linked up well for best goal of game as Stephen went forward and rattled the back of the net.

Meanwhile the Under 16 Team was away to Sarcefields in Lurgan and came away with a convincing win by 30 points dispite kicking 5 wides. Points from Martin Beeton, Conor Gragan,Michael Brannan, Conor Flynn, Cormac, Eamon and Tiernan and Goals from Sean O’Doherty and Cormac sealed a Brilliant win for the Young guns of Lisburn.

Martin then introduced our Special Guest Brian Heading (SDLP) who had kind words for the Club supporting us.  Brian went on to hand out the GAA Awards to the Kids.  starting from Under 6 up to Under 16.

Peter Burns then had a few words to say and one more reward for Dee French “The Club Achievement Award” for all the hard work he has done throughout the year for the club and also we had time to give Brian a present to thank you on helping us develop our club.

The day was then finished off with the Club getting together and special thanks to sheena and others for preparing tea and sandwiches.
