St Patrick’s minors welcomed Glenravel to Kirkwoods Park on Tuesday evening for the return league match. However the welcome was shortlived as the locals raced into a 3-1 lead within 5 minutes with converted full forward Mark Kearney scoring all the points in what turned out to be a one man demolition of the visitors. Kearney’s availability has been restricted due to work commitments this season and as if to show his team mates what they have been missing he turned in probably his best performance ever in St Patricks colours. He scored his fourth goal before half time and was central in most of the Lisburn sides scores linking effortlessly on numerous occasions with the rest of the forward players. The half ended 5-6 to 0-1 with Kearney’s personal tally at 4-1. Full credit must go to Glenravel who started the second half as if the first did not happen scoring four unanswered points from distance. On the local’s first attack of the second half Kearney again rose majestically above two defenders to claim the ball before rounding two further challenges and slotting the ball into the corner of the net. The rest of the half was completed with Kearney the lynch pin of Lisburn’s attacking play complemented by the industrious running of Peter Casey who converted a hat trick of points and Paul Anderson who added 2 points to his season’s tally. The game finished 6-11 to 0-4. Scorers for Lisburn were Mark Kearney 5-1 , Kevin Parker 1-0 , Peter Casey 0-5 , Paul Anderson 0-4 and Conor Beeton 0-1. The only negative point on the night was an ankle injury to gritty defender Conor Beeton. His team mates hope that it is only a twist and nothing more serious and their best wishes go to Conor for a speedy recovery. Probably the easiest Man of the Match award of the season goes to Mark Kearney: UNSTOPPABLE
